This is an easy dinner idea that comes together in minutes. Ground beef, onion and cabbage stir-fried with oregano and cinnamon. Great for when you have lots of cabbage to use up or don’t have a lot of time. Don’t like chopping cabbage? Buy a bag of raw coleslaw and use that. Add matchstick carrots for some added colour. Healthy and delicious. Gluten and grain free, DF, low carb.

Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 wooden spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage

Instructions

  • Over medium heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil. Saute onion about 2 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. About 5-7 minutes.
  • Mix in spices.
  • Add cabbage and cook until it's tender.

Notes

Substitute raw coleslaw in a bag in place of shredded cabbage.
Add matchstick carrots for some colour.
