Elevate burger night at your house with these SWEET POTATO BURGER BOWLS.
Roasted sweet potato serves as the base for this bowl. It’s then topped with ground beef, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and a super tasty Big Mac inspired burger sauce tops the bowl. Customize this bowl by adding any of your favourite burger toppings like pickles, onions, shredded cheese. This bowl has all the flavours of your favourite foods without the bun and more vegetables.
This burger bowl is one of my favourites! Everybody loves it!

How to Store Leftover Sweet Potato Burger Bowl
Store leftovers and dressing separately in an airtight glass containers. Refrigerate. Eat the beef within 5 days. The dressing will be ok in the fridge for 7 days.
Do not freeze.
Sweet Potato Burger Bowl
Equipment
- large bowl
- Oven
- Large baking sheet
- Large frying pan
Ingredients
- 4 medium sweet potatoes peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp chili powder
For the Hamburgers:
- 500 grams ground beef or 4 store bought hamburgers *see notes
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
For the Bowls:
- 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 2 large tomato diced
For the Burger Sauce
- 3/4 cup avocado mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp yellow mustard 1
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1/2 small white onion finely diced
- 1/4 cup pickles finely diced
Instructions
Roast the Sweet Potato:
- Preheat the oven to 425 F.
- In a large bowl, toss the diced sweet potatoes in olive oil and chili powder.
- Spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are tender and slightly crispy.
For the hamburger patties:
- While sweet potatoes are roasting, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Form the meat into four patties .Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil if necessary. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- On a cutting board, use a knife to chop up your burger into pieces.
Make the Burger Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, onion, pickles.
Make the Bowls:
- Divide the roasted sweet potatoes between two bowls.
- Place the cooked hamburger patties on the sweet potato.
- .Add a layer of chopped romaine lettuce and tomato on top of the burger.
- Drizzle burger sauce on top of the romaine lettuce.
