You should try this delicious, Creamy Avocado Ranch Sauce. It’s a super quick and easy dip for veggies or thin it out and use as a salad dressing. It could also be used as a sauce on a homemade chicken wrap. It takes less than 5 minutes to whip up this recipe.Â
Believe it or not, a McDonald’s commercial for their new chicken wrap with a creamy avocado ranch dressing was my inspiration for this recipe. My thoughts were 2-fold. Thought one was: I love the idea of an avocado ranch dressing -I have made a plain ranch dip a million times. Thought two – I bet I can recreate a tasty sauce with much, much healthier ingredients. Sure enough, it wasn’t hard to create a creamy sauce that tasted amazing without sacrificing health. McDonald’s web-site confirmed that their version is made with pro-inflammatory soybean and canola oils, sugar and 12 questionable industrial food additives, some which are known to irritate the gut lining.Â
Don’t eat McDonald’s. Your body will thank you for making this Creamy Avocado Ranch Sauce at home.Â
I love ranch dressing in particular because of the herbs. Not only are herbs nutrient dense but they add alot of flavour. I used chives, parsley, dill in this recipe. I use fresh herbs when I can but dried herbs taste good here as well.
I also used an avocado oil based mayonnaise for this recipe. Mayonnaise made from healthy oils (avocado or olive oil) are hard to find and can be expensive. Costco carries a very reasonably priced mayo (Chosen Foods Avocado Mayo) made from avocado oil. If you use regular mayonnaise (like Hellman’s)- it’s ok. Even if you use regular mayo, it’s still way healthier than the McDonald’s version discussed above.
Greek yogurt or canned coconut cream are good substitutions for mayo or sour cream.
If you prefer dairy free, there are a couple things you can do to remove the dairy here. 1- omit the mayo and sour cream and use a second avocado and coconut cream instead.Â
I hope you’ll try this Creamy Avocado Ranch Sauce. It’s super easy to make and only takes a minute.Â
Enjoy!
Why you will LOVE this Creamy Avocado Ranch Sauce!
- Creamy Texture: The combination of avocado mayonnaise and sour cream creates a creamy texture that’s perfect for dipping veggies or drizzling over salads.
- Rich Avocado Flavor: Avocado adds a rich, buttery flavor to the sauce and provides a natural source of healthy fats.
- Classic Ranch Taste: With the addition of traditional ranch spices and herbs, this sauce captures the beloved flavors of classic ranch, but with a unique twist thanks to the avocado.
- Versatility: This sauce is incredibly versatile and can be used in various ways, whether as a salad dressing, a dip for veggies or even as a flavorful spread for sandwiches and wraps.
- Healthier Option: By using avocado mayonnaise and sour cream, you’re creating a healthier alternative to traditional ranch dressing that’s lower in unhealthy fats and higher in beneficial nutrients. Most store-bought ranch dressings are made with pro-inflammatory seed oil (soybean and canola oils), sugar and food additivies.
